Description: I have to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. The Northrop F-5 was initially developed in the 1950s as a low-cost fighter designed for low maintenance and high growth potential to keep the airframes in service for over ten years. The T-38 Talon trainer was the first variant purchased by the USAF. In the early 60s, the F-5A became an export favorite. The F-5 family continued to evolve in the 1960s and in 1970, F-5E was developed and sold to many US allies with some countries building their own under license. This Limited Edition kit is the F-5E Freedom Tiger that is crammed with Eduard extras, like three PE frets (including a pre-painted one), painting masks, 3D printed Brassin resin parts, three colorful decal sheets and more. I found over a dozen listings for this newly released kit on eBay (mostly from European sellers), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this to you very quickly. Here are some of the details about this hard-to-find kit that I found from around the web: The Eduard.com site has an amazing page for this kit with dozens of photos of the stunning box art, detailed plastic parts, abundant PE parts, decals, painting masks and resin parts, not to mention the eight different marking sets available. They have a link to download the complete 20-page instruction set and painting guide, which is full color, pictorial and outstanding. Scalemates.com shows this is a 2024 release based on AFV Club’s 2010 new tooling that has been the basis of about 20 releases over the years across the AFV Club, Academy and Eduard brands. They show the colorful box art and have a link to download the complete, elaborate, full color 20-page instruction set and painting guide. There are also some links to reviews, aftermarket parts, some photo galleries of professional-looking models and references to F-5 Freedom Fighters in general. Mike did an extensive In-Box Review on the britmodeller.com forum site. He supplies 15 high-resolution photos that do a great job of showing the kit contents, including all of the extra goodies. He describes the construction sequence and the many options available in the kit. He highly recommended the kit, saying: “The AFV Club kit is a good base to start with, and the addition of the extras such as the extensive PE and the resin wheels brings a lot to improve it, which coupled with a wide choice of decal options, makes an impressive and tempting package.” Mymodellingworld posted a thorough (14.5-minute) Unboxing Video on YouTube that starts with the amazing instruction manual. The book is so immense that it takes up half of the review! Next, he goes sprue by sprue showing the fantastic detail of the AFV Club plastic parts. The last portion covers the resin wheels and antennae, the photo etched metal parts and the three decal sheets. He leaves you with no doubt about the tremendous value of this Limited-Edition kit. This kit is in a large, attractive box about 15” x 9” x 3”. As you can see from the pictures, the package is in excellent shape and still sealed with the original shrink wrap, so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit with detailed plastic parts, 3D printed resin parts, three frets of photo etched metal parts and three sheets of decals, along with an enormous 20-page instruction book and painting and marking guide to create your own F-5E Freedom Tiger fighter aircraft. It requires cement and paint to complete as shown. I use eBay Managed Payments, but I no longer ship internationally. Auction winner pays winning bid and for a limited time, this large item is offered with $10 Flat Rate Shipping in the US! No reserve and a low starting bid. Check out my other great auctions for combined shipping. Good luck! Those familiar with my listings can tell that I really enjoy these products and the modeling hobby. I like to provide more than just the bare facts about the items, trying to lead you into discovering more about the subjects and optimizing your builds (if that is your goal). I started out picking up models that I was interested in, with the eye toward building them when I had time. Always a bargain-hunter, I accumulated many more than I can build, so I found myself in a Collector status (sounds nicer than a hoarder). As I am sure you have noticed, my items are almost always sealed and in mint condition (I call them Gift-Ready), since I only open them when I am ready to build them. Now I enjoy making these products available to my fellow modelers; both Builders and Collectors. For the Builders, there are probably better (at least cheaper) ways to add to your project lists than buying from me, but you know you are getting top quality. For Collectors, my goal is to save you a few bucks over the competition for the same item in factory sealed and collectible (or resellable) condition.
