Description: Offered for sale is a farm-made flail, a tool used for threshing grain. It was owned by my grandfather, born in 1894. He was never a farmer, and I do not know where he obtained this. He lived most of his life in Virginia, so I am guessing Virginia. It is well used by the appearance of the very smooth wood handle. Given the age of the leather holding it together, I would absolutely not try swinging this around! The length of the handle is 46". The length of the business end is 31". This would be a great wall hanging decorative piece. That is how my grandfather displayed it. Included in this listing is a print I found online of a flail in use. No such print is included in this sale. Thank you for looking!
