Description: England, 1811 half penny token, Essex-Walthamstow. The obverse shows a draped, laureate, bust facing right. It is variously identified as Lucius Junius Brutus, Wellington, Julius Caesar. The date is at the bottom center. The legend around the obverse is "VINCIT AMOR PATRIAE", which translates as "THE LOVE OF MY COUNTRY PREVAILS". The lettering of the legend is a little weak at the rim as the rim rolls up to the edge. The reverse shows Britannia seated to the left, with a shield at her knee, and holding a trident and an olive branch. At the bottom of the shield is "BCC", for British Copper Company, who manufactured the pieces. The surfaces of the reverse shows a lot of die clashing from the obverse die. At the right rim, just out from the shield, at a small spot on the shield, at the prongs of the trident are small dark spots. The detail is strong on all the features on both side, with only small, typical contact marks.
