Description: For sale, a wonderful antique hand carved English wooden bread board cutting knife, treenware. It has it's original untouched patina finish. It is marked engraved in old English lettering "BREAD KNIFE" with lot's of scroll work, also engraved "Primus Isaac Ellis and Sons, Sheffield, England". Isaac Ellis was listed as a table knife manufacture at Norrisfield Works in 1837, by 1839 he worked and lived with his family in Hollis Croft. He moved to Garden Street by 1849 and was granted his Freedom by the Company of Cutlers and "PRIMUS" trade mark. Isaac Ellis passed away December 1865. It is 13 inches long, it reads "BREAD" all hand carved into the wood handle, also some wheat shaft styled carvings. Great little wood knob like end. Nice blade for cutting bread. It is in Wonderful Great used condition, normal marks from normal use. Just shows it's age well. This is TRULY the BEST of the Best super early RARE hand carved with great history bread knife that I have seen or able to own. What a great Rare early hand carved knife to use and display! These do not come up for sale very often. It would look great displayed in your Farm House home. I leave all items as in found condition.
