1890's Antique Germany Blue Onion Hanging Salt Box GMT&Bro Blue & White Cottage

Description: Antique German porcelain hanging master salt box in the iconic Blue Onion pattern. It features a flat back and a hole for mounting and painted wood lid. It was made in Germany by Gustav M. Thurnauer & Bro. ca. 1887-1910. The partnership was dissolved in 1907, but the name continued for a while later. It is signed on the bottom as shown with the G.M.T. & Bro., Germany stamp and the model number 3981. Measures 9" tall by 6"1/2" wide and protrudes from the wall 4-1/2" out. Excellent antique condition. Some wear to the paint on the lid...but it's over 100 years old! No cracks or chips. Please take a look at the photos as they describe the salt box best.
