Description: 1950s Chicago North Shore & Milwaukee Railroad La Salle Click images to enlarge Description The Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee Railroad was an interurban railway that operated between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin until its abandonment in 1963. Most of the rail line has been removed, but the Chicago Transit Authority obtained some of the trackage to Skokie. For auction is a station card. One side has directions on how to reach the Chicago's La Salle Street Station when de-training from the North Shore Line. The La Salle Street Station was used by the New York Central, Nickel Plate and Rock Island railroads, but not the North Shore Line. There was a direct platform entrance to La Salle from the North Shore Line station at La Salle and Van Buren Streets. The other side shows North Shore Line stations in Chicago's Loop. The map shows the proximity of the North Shore's stops to not only the La Salle Street Station, but also to the Clinton Street Station (used by the Chicago and North Western Railroad), Union Station, Grand Central Station, Dearborn Station, Union Station, the bus station, and other stations used by connecting railroads. The card measures appx 4 1/2 x 2 3/4 inches and is printed on both sides; the card is a moderate-weight cardstock. It is UNUSED and in EXCELLENT CONDITION:: no rips, tears, spills, smears, writing or markings. A great collectible item for the North Shore railfan or any Chicagoland rail enthusiast for that matter.
