The First English Edition was published in 1986, and subsequent editions were published in both languages at later dates into the 1990s. The book is in EXCELLENT CONDITION. The dust jacket was found encased in a mylar jacket; it looks to have little to no edge or corner wear, maybe a bit of age-toning. Blue cloth boards pristine, with silver titling front board and spine. Very clean and solidly bound with no interior marks in 431 clean and solidly bound glossy pages. The book was found with two copies of a fold-out pamphlet of the which was published in association with an exhibit at the J. Paul Getty Museum in May - July of 1991, titled August Sander: Faces of the German People. These fold-outs have a bit of soiling but are a good introduction to the photographer. On August Sander from Wikipedia: "August Sander (17 November 1876 – 20 April 1964) was a German portrait and documentary photographer. His first book Face of our Time (German: Antlitz der Zeit) was published in 1929. Sander has been described as "the most important German portrait photographer of the early twentieth century". Sander's work includes landscape, nature, architecture, and street photography, but he is best known for his portraits, as exemplified by his series People of the 20th Century. In this series, he aims to show a cross-section of society during the Weimar Republic." SLL
