Description: Here is a one owner 1985 Gibson Explorer Custom Shop Roland GR-300 Synthesizer Ready controller in mint condition. I’ve done some research and it appears that Gibson only made 25 of these, but I have contacted Gibson to verify a few things. It’s a Custom Shop model, so even without the synth hookup and controller, it’s an upgraded model than a standard Explorer. It has Tim Shaw T-Top humbucker pickups and Grover mini tuners. All of the hardware is chrome. The neck has an ebony fingerboard with medium jumbo frets. It has a gloss black nitro cellulose finish with a black 3-ply pick guard. The 3 way selector switch is down on the lower horn, unlike standard Explorer’s of the era. This is a museum quality closet queen that is very rare. This is quite possibly the nicest one of these in the world. The GR-300 synth unit is not included, but they are for sale on the open market. Comes with the original California Gal hard shell case. The guitar will be professionally packaged and shipped with insurance. Tuning and setup is the responsibility of the buyer and no partial refunds are given for this.
