Description: Item # BR07-0100. This is a 2007 Britannia Silver 1 oz coin. Struck in true .9583 Britannia Silver the coin weighs enough to contain a full troy ounce of silver. The mintage for this date was 94,000. This was called "Wreath Britannia" and it was the first design by someone other than Philip Nathan. Upon a close inspection with a loupe I can see some very fine hairline scratches on the obverse at certain angles. These are not visible when looking straight at the coin. They are not the result of a cleaning and I know for a fact the coin has never been cleaned. The coin was sealed in a mint plastic bag until last week when I opened it. I can send you the bag and the mint card if you want it- just let me know when you pay and I will include it at no extra charge. There is only one way these scratches could have developed and that is if the coin came loose from its housing while still sealed in the bag, and then someone clumsily pushed it back into place thereby scratching the obverse against the plastic ring of the holder. I repeat for emphasis- the coin has never been cleaned. It is 100% original. There is a very substantial discount for the hairlines (most sellers would not even mention them and play ignorant if you noticed them). My best estimate is that it grades 68. Thank you.
