Description: Set of six photographic advertising cards describe the features of the Cruban Oil Burner. Various design features of the burner were patented by Charles R. Uebelmesser. Known as Empire Burners, they were manufactured by Cruban Machine & Tool Works (also known as Cruban Machine and Steel Works) in New York, New York as steam car components. The Cruban Machine & Steel Company used postcards to advertise its products, as well as several brochures. CRUBAN initially started as the CRU Patents Corporation of NY, with "CRU" apparently standing for the initials of Charles R. Uebelmesser and Edwin & Alfred Banzhaf. This set is dated 1924.
