Harold, Captain Wales, and couple other men are set adrift in a quarter boat to fend for themselves. After drifting for several days, and beginning to despair of their prospects for survival, they are picked up by a whaler headed to the Arctic. Eventually, they make port in Reykjavik and board another ship to continue on their way to England, arriving in London on Christmas Eve.
