Description: Thoughts and Feelings Author: A Workingman Title: Thoughts and Feelings Publication: [Chicago?]: Wage Earners' League of America, [1936] Description: Anti-New Deal, anti-Roosevelt pamphlet from "a workingman" who discusses his transition from a New Deal/Roosevelt supporter to a critic of the administration, its "Brain Trust" and all of the new "alphabet soup" federal agencies. The author describes in detail the taxation and inflation that have eroded his small amount of savings, as well as the continued lack of jobs.Although a confusing number of "Wage Earners' Leagues" have existed, this pamphlet appears to have been published by the Wage Earners' League established circa 1924 in Chicago (supported by the Chicago printing slug). Emerging from the farmer-labor party, it appears to have primarily operated in the Midwest as a political action committee that was later aligned with the Republican Party. The Daily Worker wrote disparagingly about it through much of the 1920s. Stapled newsprint wrappers, 16 p. Some toning, near fine. Only three copies in WorldCat.
