Description: Alfred Daniels RBA RWS (1924-2015) Alfred Daniels was evacuated to Kent when the War broke out in 1939, later joining the RAF. He sent some works of war subjects to the Royal College of Art and was accepted to study there in 1947. He later toured Florence, Venice, Ravenna and Siena. Alfred was elected a member of The Royal Watercolour Society in 1973, The Royal Society of British Artists in 1983 and elected Keeper of The Royal Society in 1991. He was joint winner, with LS Lowry, of an art competition held by the Football Association and judged by the directors of the National Gallery and the Tate. In the 1960s he taught in London, at Hornsey College of Art and then at Sir John Cass School of Art. In 1949 Alfred Daniels met Margot Hamilton Hill, a set and costume designer, at a dance at the RCA and later married her.
