This map came out of New Universal Atlas, Empires, Kingdoms, States and Republics of the World - Philadelphia, Entered according to act of Congress in the Year 1850, by Thomas Cowperthwait & Co, in the Clerk’s Office of the District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The map, Page 44, with the border measures approximately 17 ½ inches by 14 inches. The map minus outer border is approximately 15 inches by 12 inches. The border is frayed with torn off pieces on edges, and soiling from age. This map is very fragile and is over 170 years old. This listing shows the cover page for New Universal Atlas. It is not included in the purchase. A bonus description page titled General Description of Europe is included with this listing. The bonus description has soiling, torn edges, and burn marks.
