Description: Presented is a fabulous Gorham coin silver gravy or sauce boat. This piece dates to around 1855-1860. The piece is done in an attractive classical style, beautifully hand engraved around the rim with a foliate design. One side of the gravy boat has a monogram of A. This is a very handsome and well constructed piece, made from thick, heavy silver with a nice feeling of weight in the hand. This piece is in great overall condition. There is a minor dent to the handle, which is hard to notice without looking at the handle dead on. There is a black reflection in the closeup photo of the monogram, but this is only a reflection from the camera, not a repair or any type of substance or corrosion, as you can see by looking at the overall photo of that side where the spot does not appear. There are no splits, no breaks, no other dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs. This piece is stamped on the underside with the Gorham maker's mark as well as "coin" for 900 purity silver. This piece is about 10 1/4 inches long from spout to handle, and stands about 5 3/4 inches tall. This piece weighs 401 grams or 14.1 regular ounces. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
