Description: These dolls are amazing! they are mostly hand stitched and all handmade. the shoe of the old man is signed at the bottom. his cigarette is not broken, he even has a mole on the back of his neck and a handkerchief in his pocket. the woman has three layers of clothing, handmade shoes and glasses, her hair is mohair. They even have socks! they're such a unique and interesting peasant couple. I think they are French peasants or maybe Italian or spanish, definitely one of a kind. I can't find anything like them, very unique! quite the addition for someone who collects one of a kind antique dolls. please ask any questions. I'm happy to provide any additional information that you may want. The photos are not altered at all, taken in late afternoon outside. approximately 10 in tall. I'm selling them together and with the bench, which is not from the same time period. All cloth, possibly sawdust stuffing. Ears are papermeche. Clothes and paint are original. I've had them for years, kept in a china hutch, they're so interesting and unique! Hard times have me selling some of my treasures collected over the years.
