Description: Outstanding antique French loom woven linen. Denser but not overly bulky or thick and very tightly woven, similar to a canvas. Typically softens with washings. May have a bit of cotton & flax in it as well. I would consider the hue a nutty oatmeal, closer to a taupe than a creamy variation. A bit deeper than my camera was able to capture. Gorgeous striations in the weave. Very rustic and French farmhouse appeal.Circa 1900 and generally loom woven by farmers in the Alsace region of France but various examples also is areas of Germany and Eastern Europe generally for dowries. Endless possibilities from home pieces to upholstery, needlework, bags, floor pieces etc... **Condition is unused and overall very well maintained through the years. It appears overall clean albeit a few random pale storage marks which will wash. I do feel this has been overall well preserved. **Measures 28" wide by 1 yard long~ I can keep your length selected uncut. Many thanks! I sell antique and vintage fabric.
