They were quite knowledgeable in this area. She told me that she and her husband would try to preserve atlases where feasible but that most of the lot I purchased were from atlases where the maps were in very good condition, but the bindings were too poor to repair, so the maps were stripped for individual sale. In some cases, the atlas was either noted on the map, or in other cases was noted by the seller. Where available I have included that information as well as any other background information I received. The seller assured me that the maps were all from atlases or other sources published over 100 years ago, generally from the 19th Century or older, and we will guarantee your satisfaction in that regard.Eight of the ten maps are matted. All are protected in plastic and will be shipped that way. The outer sizes of the mattes and the backing stock on the ten maps vary in the longest dimension from 12" to 17", and in the shortest dimension from 16" to 20".Also at the time of the original listing, we will be listing 12 antique mechanical drawing prints / plates from a 1765 Diderot Encyclopedia, purchased from the same source as the antique maps. At this time we also have a set of seven architectural drawings from the estate of noted Seattle architect, Richard Lytel, and a number of vintage movie posters on heavy stock.
