Description: These 2 antique monochrome photographs are of handsome and stylish young men on decoratively cut 3-3/4 x 3-3/4 heavy card. The cards bear the name "Rote." Jacob E. Rote (born around 1852-died Sept 20, 1901) and Frederick Rote (Born April 18, 1854-died Nov 15, 1936) were both photographers in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Jacob operated a studio at 50-1/2 N. Queen St. between 1886 and 1900. Because the cards include that address, the photos are likely from just around the turn of the century or before. Both photos are in good condition with some staining and discoloration, see photos.
