It has a strong smell and some spots which may be mold (see pictures).A scarce work, by the German reformer Johann Spangenberg. This is an affordable way to own this work. At the time of listing, the other 16th century copy available on the market (see Vialibri) is selling for more than $1,200 USD.The binding, is a unique style; I think it's a modern recreation but it's an ode to paste paper bindings made by the Herrnhut (Germany) Moravian Brethren.About the Author -Since he preached in a Protestant way, the council of Nordhausen appointed him in 1524 as pastor of the church of St. Blasii in a large circle of activity. He carried out this activity for 22 years, supported by Mayor Michael Meyenburg. In particular, he took care of the school here, wrote textbooks, but was also theologically active by presenting Philipp Melanchthon's loci in question and answer. There are also edifying writings and printed funeral sermons by him. In 1542 he wrote a yearbook from Advent to Easter in Nordhausen.
