Description: ATQ Photo Lot BENTON ILLINOIS Machiels Studio DISASTER COAL CB&Q Railroad Buildings Equipment Lot of 7 B&W snapshot photos with white borders. Series of images of what appears to be a disaster site. Debris of buildings, equipment, Chicago, Burlington & Quincy railroad cars, piles of coal, wood, bricks. Damaged vehicles as well and a couple shots with people. None are dated or provide location and/or event. Perhaps sometime in the 1920s based on automobiles pictured. All measure 5-3/4” x 3-1/4”. Each photo has a number in pencil written on back. Several have purple ink stamp on reverse that reads: This print was finished by the Kodak Department of MACHIELS STUDIO Art & Gift Shop 114 West Church, BENTON, ILL. Otto H. Machiels operated his business from 1914-1946 in Benton. Some minor wear/discoloration from age. One image with slight crease. No major rips or tears. Please review all photos.
