Backup power transfer switch, 45A Battery Backup DC Switching System PWRgate

Description: You all asked for it, Here it is!! DC ATS, Anderson PowerPole Automatic Transfer Switch rated for 45A to compliment my PowerPole Distribution Boxes, see my other listings for those!! Automatically switch your radios, or any load at 13.8 vdc up to 45 amps, from your normal power supply to your battery backup when your 12 volt DC power supply or AC power fails to your 12 volt DC power supply. Designed to be used with 13.8 VDC, 11-15 volt nominal, such as radios, accessories, LED lighting, etc. Maximum current limit of 45 amps can be operated and switched. Anderson Power Poles on all three connections, Main input, Aux Input, and Output. How to use: Main: Connection from your normal DC power supply that is powered from the AC mains. Aux: Connection from your backup battery power supply, there is no provision for charging which allows you to separately charge the battery via a float charger, solar panels, wind turbine, etc.Out: Connection to your radios, lights, or other equipment, if you need a fused distribution block which uses ATC style automotive fuses and can incorporate voltage metering and load switching see my other listings for those!! When the main power supply fails or AC power fails to your main power supply, the internal PCB mounted relay automatically switches to your Aux input. When AC power to your main power supply returns, the internal PCB mounted relay automatically switches back to your main power supply input as normal. The LED indicator shows that you are on Main power, when the LED goes out you are on Aux power. The front panel switch also allows you to manually switch to the Aux power, this is handy in cases where you want to test the backup power source, or manually run off backup power for an operating event, emergency tests, etc. This has a quality Automotive style relay with less than 5ms of switching time. Most equipment won't even restart as they have input power filtering, capacitors, that can float the load for that 5ms. Most LED lighting i have tested it with doesn't even flicker! These relays are used in Automotive applications, can handle -40C to +125C and are fully sealed from the environment, they have an operating current of 133mA, and are rated for hundreds of thousands of cycles. My design also includes a Flyback Diode to protect connected equipment. There is no battery charging with this system, since most buyers that wanted me to make this product have suggested so and they prefer their own charging system. This means unlike some other products available which limit your battery type due to internal charging you can have LiFePo4 batteries, lead acid batteries, SLA, AGM, etc. There is no restrictions on the aux battery type as its maintained and charged separately and does not put a load on the main dc input. So you can use things like a simple float charger, solar panels, wind turbines, etc. Any questions just ask!!
