This rare first edition of the souvenir program published by the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, for the 1936 performance of the Ballet Russes, recently revised by Colonel Wassily de Basil (Vassily G. Voskresensky) and René Blum. Sir Thomas Beecham conducted the London Philarmonic Orchestra (the pamphlet includes a photograph of Beecham). A formidable list of artists were involved in creating this program: Joan Miro, Etienne De Beaumont, Raoul Dufy, Andre Masson, and Georges A. de Pogedaieff (who illustrated the cover). Staple-bound, white paper covers with a cord around the spine; 9 1/2" x 12", 48 pages. The pages are bright and in excellent shape, though the owner annotated a few of the photographs, perhaps during the performance. Insured postage included in price. $67.00
