Description: I played professional guitar in the '60's and '70's. I played them all: Fender Tele, Gibson SG, Gibson Les Paul Black Beauty re-issue. One afternoon while playing a jam session, I picked up a Barney Kessel. I think it was a Gibson. The guitar absolutely played like butter. I thought, One day I would have to have one of these. Then, after I retired, I found where a company called Ventura, was making a reproduction Barney Kessel. From the research I have been able to do, they were made from '69 to '75. And they play very close to the one I had remembered all those years ago. If you look at the head stock, you'll see a "K" for "Kessel" reversed in mother of pearl. (A subtle but poignant statement)So I bought this guitar. I've had it about 10 years. It plays very easily, and you can get sounds from Rock to Jazz. I don't play professionally any more, so I'm going to let this guitar go for what I paid for it. The guitar is ready to plug in and go, no issues. This will make you a great guitar for gigging, sessions, or just enjoying it. Price is $999, plus shipping. I use careful packing and UPS ground with insurance. Let me know any questions you might have. Thank you for looking at the auction.
