Description: Crucible Knife Co. 2-blade antique jacknife, est. 1920s-1930s: This is an example of a very rare brand, made by an unknown contract-cutler. The brand was made for and marketed by W,T. Grant stores, a nationwide variety store that operated from 1906 to 1976. The knives were of sufficient quality that some have survived in remarkably good shape (see discussion at ). Unfortunately, this is not one of them. Both blades have seen years of use, the main blade sharpened to about 60% or original width, and the pen blade appears to have been burned by acid. The main blade has walk and talk with a half-stop, albeit vague. Small blade has good walk and talk and a half-stop. Bone handles are in good original condition with one chip on rear handle, at the hinge end. This knife is beautiful only to the Crucible collector or one who collects exclusively very old pocketknives. The value to them is in completeness, good handle condition, functionality, and the vague brand stamp on the main blade tang. (I tried to photo the stamp but couldn't get an image; sorry.) Mailing only to USA-48. Postage is between $5.00---$5.85. Buyer pays $4.00, I will pay the rest. Buy my other knives at the same time and I will pack all in one package with no additional charge. Save mailing costs; also, I will discount a multi-knife purchase. Contact me with your choices! I am liquidating my entire collection; please keep me in your favorite sellers, watching for Old Bryan's Old Knives or the seller name below.
