Description: This beautiful and unusual antique vase is available for sale. It is an exceptional example of Peters and Reed Pottery early Moss Aztec line. This vase is a valuable addition to a ceramics collection and would make an impressive vase for flower arrangements. The interior has a classic tile glaze and shows the red tile type clay. The interior base appears to show the vase as a hand thrown work. The exterior, with ivy images, impressed and carved, has a matt finish, free of glaze, and fine light green tint to the raw red art clay's edging. The base has a dim identification mark. "The maker, Peters and Reed Pottery, wasfounded in 1899 by John D. Peters and Adam Reed in South Zanesville, Ohio. The company used local red clay to make functional and decorative art pottery."
