Description: Vintage Fantagraphics Books Ultimate Catalog from 1990 (As-Is) Description Up for sale is a vintage Fantagraphics catalog. I'm not exactly sure as to what year this was published, but from the information I've gathered from similar listings out there, it appears to be from 1990 and is also designated as the Ultimate Catalog for that year, so I figure it was probably the last one to come out (around December or something... I honestly can't remember when I first got it). This catalog along with a few others were kept in a crate that collected quite a bit of dust over the years and played host to a highly unwanted termite infestation that unfortunately managed to cause a bit of damage to them. Luckily, this particular one was spared for the most part, however, it did succumb to some sort of water damage at some point, which has caused the publication to wrinkle up with some black spotting throughout its pages; most likely caused by the ink used to print the semi glossy pages and whatnot. Aside from this immediately visible wear, there is also a clipped edged located on the upper right corner on the front cover and there are just blotches and water stains appearing throughout the cover; which almost makes it look like a vintage comic book, ironically enough. Additionally, there's also some signs of wear (or faded print, I should say) appearing throughout the publication. The business reply mail insert which features Popeye the Sailor Man that was stapled to the spline has also come loose and has developed some major yellowing/spotting on it. The staples on the spline themselves also exhibit signs of oxidation on them as well. The rear cover also has some wear and tear on it; specifically in the bottom area where the original recipient address sticker label was located. This sticker label was intentionally taken off for the purpose of this sale and left some traces of minor ripped cover page material in its wake. There are also some very noticeable signs of water damage on the rear cover as well which appear in the form of spotting that resembles coffee stains; which can very well be a touch of mold. Despite of these cosmetic blemishes, I figure this catalog is still collectible as it is technically vintage. Either way, I'm pricing this item to move, so please be sure to get in on this deal while it still lasts, for my loss is your gain as they say in the trade.
