A color-order model of the 2023 collection model!! The "1960 Stratocaster" with the popular slab rosewood fingerboard!! This one is based on the 1960 Stratocaster with a rosewood fingerboard!! The alder body is carefully selected by wood selection specialists for Fender Custom Shop products. The neck material, which is carefully selected like the body, is quarter-sawn maple. The fingerboard radius is 9.5R, and the frets are jumbo-sized slab rosewood fingerboard. The body and neck finish is an all-lacquer finish, just like the vintage model. The heavy relic finish reproduces the irregular weather check with severe paint peeling. The back of the neck has been peeled off significantly from the 1st to 11th frets, and the texture of the wood grain makes it smooth to play. The remaining paint has a dignified look with a amber-colored clear coat that has faded. The texture of the guitar is recreated by the dirt in places. The neck grip is finished in the "60 Style Oval C" shape, which is often used in models from the early 1960s. The grip is thin in the low position and thicker towards the high position, but this guitar has a slim feel all the way to the high position. The hardware is equipped with a synchronized tremolo with PAT.PEND. engraved saddles, and the machine heads are vintage-type Kluson pegs. The live sound of the custom shop, which is above the line among Fenders, is characterized by its clear live sound due to its bolt-on structure, and the airiness and thickness of the sound when output from the amplifier are on another level. Furthermore, the sound obtained by the relic finish is so good that you can fully experience the vibration of the body and neck just by playing one chord. The overwhelming live sound is so comfortable that you can play it forever even without outputting it to an amplifier, and it is a quality that can only be experienced at a custom shop with a satisfying playability. All the pickups that reproduce that wonderful sound are hand-wound pickups. Compared to normal machine-wound guitars, the amp gives off an impression of rich overtones and an acoustic air. This model uses Texas Special (Alnico 5/enamel wire), which features a thick, dry tone. The alder/rose wood material and Texas Special pickups produce a firm sound with a peak in the midrange. The neck and middle pickups are rich in low mids, and the bridge position produces a blocky tone with no unnecessary lows. The middle pickup has reverse winding and reverse polarity, so you can get the same hum cancellation effect as a humbucking pickup when in mix (half) tone. If you are concerned about noise, you can switch to the mix position to reduce noise, so you can use it well during live performances and recordings. The pickups are calibrated. The controls are VINTAGE MODIFIED STRAT#2. The volume control is BLEED custom based on a high-pass capacitor that combines a ceramic capacitor and a resistor, and the tone control uses a FENDER paper wax capacitor that matches each position. The BLEED custom makes it possible to turn down the volume while maintaining the mid-to-high range even when the volume is turned down. The volume control is useful as a gain control, making the sound into a lead tone at full volume, backing tone at around 70%, and clean/crunch at 50% or less. Compared to a typical high-pass capacitor, the tone is not too thin with a feeling that the mid-range remains. The tone control capacitor selects the appropriate capacitor value for each position of the neck & middle tone and bridge tone, and the overall tone balance is achieved, and the sound when the tone is cut is also attractive.
