Description: Vintage Decoy Coot by Gust "Gus" Nelow of Omro, Wisconsin 1874-1961 Lake Winnebago Region. This Old Coot Decoy is from his later years of carving and most likely right around the end of his carving career with the very raspy rough finish. This Vintage Wisconsin Classic Coot is around 80 years old and is in hunted over used condition with expected wear from its years in service on the water. It is a mix of Original paint and some old in use Hunter Paint which is mostly to the head and neck area from an old neck crack repair. Original Glass Eyes that are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks in them. All in all this Old Coot Decoy is a Great example from one of Wisconsins Top Big Name Carvers that are Highly Sought After and Collected by Wisconsin Decoy Collectors.
