Description: This is the Counter-Strike Edition of the Half-Life Generation pack, meaning that it includes the classic multiplayer shooter Counter-Strike as well as the original Half-Life FPS game and its sequel Opposing Force. (The slightly earlier edition of the Half-Life Generation pack included only Half-Life and Opposing Force.) Half-Life was the first FPS to really involve the player in a complex plot as well as unbeatable shooter action. The atmosphere is creepy and paranoid as you move through the top-secret Black Mesa facility during an extradimensional invasion, punctuated by white-knuckled furious bursts of action. You need shooter skills, but if you don't also use your brain you'll never make it. A true classic and a great leap forward for computer gaming. Opposing Force puts you on the other side (or rather on ONE of the other sides) but maintains the atmosphere and gameplay. New weapons and enemies abound, and you won't have much warning when something you haven't seen before rears up and tries to kill you. Counter-Strike is a team-based multiplayer shooter where the teams battle over hostages with modern (not sci-fi) weapons. Other than the training tutorials, it's multiplayer only. I pack very carefully and re-use packing materials in great shape, so that you never have to pay for it.
