Description: I want to first say these amps work as they should, but I do not want to get caught up in any disputes, just the nature of vintage electronics I have a HH Scott 232 and a HH Scott 232B tube amp pair. The only difference betweem the two is that the 232B has adjustable damping whatever that means. They have both been recapped and I have enjoyed listening to them for approximately ten years. I matched these babies with a pair of Alte 19 speakers which seemed to be a match made in heaven as the Altecs are highly efficient speakers with a maximum rating of 45 watts while these amps produce 32watts rms. You can look these up on the HH Scott website and get more info than I can give. After recapping something went wrong with the first big can electrolytic on the 232 (not the 232B) and one section failed. I had a friend add a 40uf cap in place of that section of the can and a couple of resistors. I need to say the repair is a little amateurish, but has functioned as it should. If I were going to keep I would replace the can again. The joy of vintage tube amps. I am going to list these as local pickup, but I will meet within a hundred miles of my location in central South Carolina. I would prefer the new owner to audition these first.
