The car had a gas leak from a glass fuel filter which somehow caught on fire. The fire never made it to the carburetor however the extinguisher I used dulled the chrome like finish. I haven't tried to polish it to bring the finish back. I think it would be easier to paint it. It was working fine when I took it off about 2 years ago and I replaced it with fuel injection.
