Description: Vintage Japanese Pottery Sake Bottle Kayoi-Tokkuri This is a vintage Japanese ceramic sake bottle. It is called a Kayoi-Tokkuri and is used to pour sake. The commuting sake bottle became popular as a rental container for liquor stores in the Edo period when sake began to be consumed on a daily basis. This period bottle is greenish gray with some carved Japanese kanji characters on the outside. Gray Ceramic C1930 Some characters: 面左毎戸 Item weight: 1210 grams Packed weight: 1710 grams Approx. 14.5 cm wide x 22.8 cm tall Good condition considering age. Glaze and clay imperfections. Marks.
