Description: Great large antique New England wooden primitive old layered painted staved bucket with 2 metal wire bands. Bottom underside base retains its original untouched surface with inside bucket having what appears to be original chippy worn blue paint. On outside of bucket there appears to be three layers of old paint, where you can see red, blue under top layer of green paint. It measures approximately 14 1/2 inches tall, by 12 3/4 inches diameter at bottom underside base. Outside upper rim is not completely round with its widest point being 16 inches & smallest being 15 1/4 inches. It is in great antique condition with normal usage & age related wear marks. Does have chippy worn blue paint on inside, two opposing small holes near top edge possibly had handle at one time, some of the wooden slats are not perfectly lined up but have no movement & are solid & secure. This bucket has layers of paint, when held just right in light can see free hand painted letters that looks to be the alphabet underneath top layer of paint. Please see all pictures for more details.
