You will receive fully grown crayfish that are a great choice if you want to breed these beautiful crayfish easily and quickly. These Crayfish need a good amount of hiding spots to feel safe and comfortable in their environment. A temperature from 75-85° can speed up growth, promote molting, promote breeding, and increase the chances of fertilization during mating. We are excited to announce our very own bred crayfish. You will receive crayfish that have been successfully bred before and are ready to hold eggs so you can start your Neon Red crayfish family! Breeding: If you plan on breeding these, and want to maximize results, make sure your water temperature is from 77-82° F. Crayfish will not breed in cooler temperatures. Warm temperature promotes mating. They will need to mate at least 2 times for 10-20 minutes to make sure fertilization happens. If they only mate once, or for a very small period or time, be patient and wait for them to mate again. Procambarus Clarkii will become aggressive as they mature, it is not recommended to keep these crayfish with live plants, Snails, Shrimp, Small Fish, or other animals that can get injured/ eaten by these crayfish. If you plan on keeping 2 or more crayfish in the same tank, make sure to provide spots for the crayfish to hide during molting as they are very vulnerable and easy to be killed by other crayfish at this stage. Regular water changes is necessary to promote good growth and health. A 20% weekly water change is a safe way to keep these crayfish healthy. When you receive these crayfish, it is possible for their color to be faded away. This happens due to stress but color will come back in around 1 week after being received. If you see your crayfish is not getting their color back, make sure the water quality is good and temperature is at a good level. Lower temperatures and bad water quality can stress the crayfish and slow down growth speed. Crayfish need a good diet. some good food options are cucumber, carrots, high protein pellets, spinach, lettuce and some meaty foods. Without a good diet, your crayfish will not receive enough vitamins and minerals and can potentially lead to death.
