Description: This is a limited edition miniature of the Lord of the Rings character Isildur, the king who led the original alliance that defeated Sauron, if only by luck. It was Isildur himself who struck a desperate blow in self defence against Sauron's godlike assault, that separated his fingers from his person, and so severed his connection to the One Ring of power. Isildur, buoyed by his victory, was then seduced by the power of the ring, claiming it for himself. As well as being an excellent depiction of that character, this mini is also a superb option for a Black Numenorean captain to lead your forces of fallen men, orcs and other creatures of darkness. He's a haughty man of noble bearing wearing ornate plate of foreign design, head capped in a lofty helm, commanding his forces with an iron fist, potentially calling upon the mystical forces of discord. The standard paint scheme shows him in bronzed plate, but the limited edition version (which is for sale here) depicts black plate which completes the Black Numenorean aesthetic (though bronze is still an acceptable colour scheme for Black Numenoreans, they don't have to be actually dressed in black). For Warhammer players, you might find use for this miniature as a vampire count or lord, or a Chaos Lord. The pose is imperious and self possessed, and the armour is forbidding and heavy; he looks like a sinister figure. Foot on rock, he is obsessed with the ring in his hand; perhaps it is an item of power that guarantees his immortality, like the von Carstein ring, perhaps it is a cursed artefact that contains a daemon, and that daemon is whispering the key to victory to its possessor. The unorthodox helmet design would probably lend itself well to a Chaos Lord of Slaanesh. The item is new in packet. The seal has been lifted, but is still present. An assembly and painting guide is also included. This Isildur miniature is a limited edition miniature, so production on it has ceased, and is an interesting sculpt with lots of character that is sure to be both enjoyable to paint and easy to appreciate.
