Description: Bought in Venice Italy in 1999 for $2,200 from the Museum Shop at St. Marks Square ($1 in 1999 = $1.87 in 2024). The statuette is 22 inches tall and is fomed out of a mass of crystal clear glass with eight red and blue stripes of translucent material somehow immersed within the glass along its back inner surface opposite the child. Absolutely amazing how they did this. Because of the clear glass and is beautifully contoured shape, any penetrating light produces awesome reflections. At the time of purchase the piece had to be custom made and shipped to the USA...arrived a few months later. This is an unimaginably beautiful piece that must be extremely rare since I have never seen anything like it in terms of size, beauty and its creative and spiritual message. This would be the centerpiece no matter where.
