Description: The Manners and Customs of the Ancient Egyptians This is an 1883 edition, volume II, hardback book of J. Gardner Wilkinson’s historic account of the ancient Egyptians. It includes illustrations throughout as well as 5 colored plates. There are a total of 515 pages. The book measures 9 inches by 6.5 inches and is 1.5 inch thick. CONDITION: The pages inside are in overall great condition with some browning/sepia toning due to age. Otherwise, it appears the book has not been read thoroughly as some pages are still uncut and cannot be read unless separated. The primary condition concerns are with the front and back covers. Although all pages are strongly intact with the spine, the covers have some separation and are “hanging in there” but book will need to be handled with care. The back cover is closer to full separation than the front cover. The almost separation may be preserved, but again, with utmost care. Other than that, there is general color and rub wear to covers.
