Description: For sale is a rare example of a test print by the renown French artist Max Papart (1911-1994). This work of art was sold in a limited edition of 175, which we can assume followed the test proofs. The inscription reads, "Efreuve réservé aux amis et collaborateurs". The English translation is “Test reserved for friends and collaborators”. This piece was produced during the artist's residence in the United States, when pure abstraction dominated his work. On the back of the frame is the date "7/88", i.e., July 1988. It is not clear if this was the month and year of the test print, or its framing.
