Description: I own a specialty advertising company, now in our 46th year - and I was in the industry for many years prior to establishing my own firm. We are now in the semi-retirement stages and I am offering our somewhat unusual advertising pieces collected over the years. In the office, we maintain several large sample rooms. Various advertising samples are stored in closed containers. These are within the office, and climate controlled. Recently while searching through old sample bins, I happened upon two McDonald's items from the 1980's - a lunch bag and a 3D foam puzzle / and a mug that may be from the late 1970's. Details:A. The mug is an over-run sample from an order not sold by me, but rather someone else. It was produced by my supplier Glass America, and I believe it to be from the late 1970's - but it is in NEW condition. The 11 ounce mug appears to be porcelain and the blank made in England - but decorated in the U.S.A. The white porcelain is over fired in the famous McDonald's red, and features a "C" handle grip. The clever design is decorated in multi-colors featuring their then popular "Hamburgler". I do not think he has been used for many years. B. The lunch bag is 9.25" x 6" x 4". It is in red nylon, collapses when not being used, and had a Velcro top closure. Screened printed in gold is the slogan..."It's A Good Time For The Great Taste / and the logo". In checking, I see this was their slogan during the years 1984 -1988. Frankly, I do not recall ever hearing it. This special lunch bag was made in the U.S.A. C. The foam puzzle too, is unusual. It is three dimensional, and the size is 6.5" x 1.25", and as indicated, in foam, yellow foam to be exact. The McDonald's logo is in black on the top. The puzzle had five pieces, so of course geared towards kids. It is still in it's original cello bag to keep it fresh, and never used. It too, was made in the U.S.A. From where I found this treasure, it too appears to be from the 1980's. What a find for a collector of McDonald's memorabilia, and especially nice that while quite old, unused and in new condition - even after all of these years.
