Garfinkle produced mugs, bowls, plates and more using a salt-glazing technique that was ovenproof, microwave safe and dishwasher safe. For many years, the company had a chain of retail stores from Bangor to Boston. In 2004, Monroe Salt Works was sold to Tawinbi Co. Inc of Keene, New Hampshire.
