The output capability of this diode exceeds that of the NUBM44, NUBM47 and even the newest NUBM4F diode making this the MOST POWERFUL blue wavelength diode currently available. This new powerhouse of a diode was just recently introduced to the market replacing the NUBM44 which was released back in 2015. The Z80_8W450B9 diode has a higher forward voltage than most blue wavelength diodes in its class. Testing performed on new and professionally calibrated LaserBee A10 RTA Laser Power Meter. This diode keeps going where the NUBM44 stops! *Optical output measured before the addition of a lens. You must know what you are doing before hooking these up. Reverse polarity, excessive current and high heat will damage or ruin these. A proper CONSTANT CURRENT laser diode driver is required to drive the diode. NEVER connect a laser diode directly to a battery or un-regulated power supply. The current should not exceed 5A CW. The diodes must be installed in to a laser diode module and heatsink before energizing to dissipate heat. A glass lens should be used as well. Be sure no dust, residue or other material is obstructing the diode window or lens. Each diode is tested for functionality before shipping.
