Description: Designer Norway + Designs AGE Sterling Modernist 3-Prong Jester Ring Circa 1960s Size 7-US / 54.5-EU / N3/4-UK Markings: ND (Makers Mark for Norway Designs) - AGE 925S Norway Weight: 5.8g Fantastic mid century modern 3 pronged crown "Jester" cocktail ring by the iconic jewelry design house of Norway known as Norway + Designs. An original by Anna Greta Eker, designed and produced in the late 1950's through the 1960's all by hand. It has recently been professionally polished and looks phenomenal. Please excuse the lines or reflections, as it's extremely shiny and hard to photograph. Norway Plus Designs was started in 1958 in Frederikstad as an applied arts centre for the development of modern design in ceramics, glass and textiles as well as jewellery. The head of the silver workshop was Erling Christoffersen, who, together with his wife Anna Greta Eker, were the chief designers. A year later they were joined by the young Tone Vigeland, and it was these three who were the stars of the company, which produced innovative modern silver designs which won favour worldwide and which are still much in demand today. The silver workshop was closed down in the 1970s. Another member of the team was Odvar Pettersen, who was the production manager, but he also designed a couple of pieces. Most Plus Design pieces feature the signature of the designer as well as ND in a box and + in a box.
