The painted image area is 9.75" x 12.75." For a 68-year-old painting originally created as a cover illustration, the painting is in new, clean, excellent condition. The glue residue in the margins does not affect the painting at all. This is from the original printing production process and can be matted out when framed. The original logo photostat from the publisher is glued to the bottom of the painting. Publishing and printing directions are written and stamped in the outer margin area. This is a lovely example of hand-painted children's book artwork from the last century.
