Description: This rare Byers' Choice Ltd bread baker is a unique addition to any holiday Byers' Choice The Carolers collection or a wonderful unique stand-alone Christmas decoration. He could also be a great kitchen decoration any time of year. Completely hand-crafted in 1992 in Chalfont, PA, the figurine depicts a baker in a classic uniform & hat carrying 2 wicker baskets of bread. He is part of the "Cries of London" series that featured Victorian street vendors selling their wares. He stands 14" tall, is 6" wide and 4" from front to back. He wears navy blue wool pants, a white baker's jacket, an apron and tall baker's hat. A red & white checked neckerchief surrounds his neck. His fluffy blonde hair peeks out around his hat. He has a grey mustache and gold wire spectacles. He carries a rectangular wicker basket on his head and holds another basket in his other hand. Both baskets hold 2 loaves of bread. The piece is signed and dated on the base behind his shoes. The plaster base has quite a bit of chipping on the bottom. Please view last photo. There are also a few very tiny, faint spots on the clothing that I have photographed. The bottom has the original gold foil label with the company name, manufacture location, and year.
