Description: This rare and fabulous (!) 1960's vintage coat by acclaimed designer of the day, Norman Norell, is constructed of thick, weighted cotton in a cheerful red on white polka dot pattern.It has lovely couture features: bound buttonholes and an interior fabric-covered snap if you wish to button the coat to the very top, a deep vent in center back for ease of movement, nipped in at thewaist for a slimming silhouette. Double-breasted with large red buttons. Notice how the polka dots on the large pockets line up perfectly with the body of the coat! The coat can be worn with or without the red patent leather belt (marked size 8).The original owner removed the 4 belt loops originally intended to contain the belt, leaving somesmall fraying ~ completely unnoticeable when belt is worn (see second to last photo).Norell was a master of tailoring! Worn by Jackie O and many of the Ladies Who Lunch in NYC. Measurements: Bust: 36" Waist: 34" Hips: 42" Length from shoulder to hem: 39-1/2" Belt measures 29"-31" Condition: Pictures will hopefully detail the few small defects of the coat. There is very slightyellowing around the collar that is probably a result of the 50+ years it has been in storage. A good dry cleaner should be able to bring it back to its original condition. And there is one yellowish spot on the front, near the hem (see last photo) that is also a candidatefor dry cleaning. Otherwise all is intact.
