Rookie Racer is a Formula 1 racing-themed Vekoma family coaster at Six Flags St. Louis. It opened on September 30, 2023 within the Britannia area. It is currently being built on the spot where the former Speed O'Drome Go Karts extra charge attraction used to be and where Catwoman Whip was originally planned to be built for the 2020 season. On March 1, 2023, Six Flags St. Louis announced Rookie Racer, their first original roller coaster since American Thunder opened in 2008.[1] The ride officially opened on September 30, 2023. LayoutAfter leaving the station, guests will make a left turn into the tire-driven lift hill, followed by a drop curving to the left. They then experience a horizontal loop, a small helix, and an S-bend before hitting the final brake run. Six Flags St. Louis, originally known as Six Flags Over Mid-America, is an amusement park in Eureka, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. Owned and operated by Six Flags, it has eight themed areas with attractions, dining, and live entertainment, many themed with characters from Looney Tunes and other Warner Bros. films and TV shows, DC Comics, and, formerly, Scooby-Doo. The park was conceived in the 1960s by Six Flags founder Angus G. Wynne as the last of the company's original three parks. It was the first one designed by the Six Flags company; the designer of the first two, architect Randall Duell, was busy designing AstroWorld at the time. The park opened on June 5, 1971. It remains the only one of the original three parks that is owned and operated by Six Flags. (The other two, Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Over Georgia, are owned by limited partnerships and operated by Six Flags.) The park has undergone many changes, including the 1990s replacement or renaming of all six of the park's original areas and the addition of two new ones. The park, which operates from March to November, hosts various celebrations and events. Some of the most popular are Fright Fest runs during the Halloween season (usually late September to late October/early November) and features many Halloween decorations and haunted houses. Coca-Cola's July 4th Fest takes place July 3–5 and features fireworks displays. The park no longer operates Holiday in the Park, which ran from November to early January and featured Christmas decorations and music, New Year's fireworks, and more.
