Description: Sega Game Gear VA1 Model 2110 Gray Fully Recapped, Clean! Nice Screen! New Lens! This is a VA1 (Single ASIC) Sega Game Gear console, in Gray. I have professionally recapped fully and cleaned the system. Here is a summary of my work (performed on 13JAN25) to make this console last as long as possible below!I replaced every single capacitor on the main motherboard, sound board, and power board. The recap process was very smooth and mostly without issue.Just as an extra note: Prior to recap, the system had slightly leaking capacitors on the main board. You could see the screen at an angle, which typically indicates that the capacitors hadn't completely failed. The board was cleaned up and motherboard pads re-tinned with fresh solder. Capacitors were added without issue. Thoroughly cleaned/scrubbed to ensure that virtually no capacitor fluid was left behind. Power board worked prior to recap, but audio board was very quiet. Audio board was thoroughly cleaned prior to recap, and all pads were re-tinned with fresh solder. With fresh caps, the audio board works great. Before and during recap, I cleaned the boards to remove flux and capacitor leakage.Reflowed the audio wheel to ensure good contact so that using the audio wheel does not result in any static.Replaced the screen lens with a fresh one.Cleaned the outside of the shell to remove most grime.Screen looks excellent with no apparent dead pixels or issues. Brand new screen lens installed in place of old heavily scratched one as well. The console works fully, with the buttons and cartridge slot working great. Headphone jack works and all wheels work well. Screen looks as great as a Game Gear screen can look with no issues. Cosmetically, the console looks very good but with a couple marks or scratches from years of play. I have tested with Super Columns, and the system played without issue. Audio is crisp and loud. The console has been tested for about thirty minutes run time total. Please look at photos to see physical condition. Condition is overall classified as "GOOD" overall in my opinion!
