Chiba Sachiko a beer girl who sells beer at the station falls in love with musician Okawa Heihachiro. The climax scene in a beer hall becomes a grand operetta. It is a modern talkie musical comedy that distinguishes itself from previous Japanese films. It was produced by Photo Chemical Laboratory (abbreviated as P.C.L.) which had been launched the previous year as a talkie-specializing studio. It was distributed by the Film Department of Towa Shoji Limited Partnership Company which imported and distributed mainly European films. As a result the audience was mostly white-collar workers students and other intellectuals and city dwellers who were familiar with Western films.
