DESCRIPTION John Barry - “The Black Hole Original Motion Picture Soundtrack” Buena Vista Records 5008 (Stereo) from 1979. Hard to find Original Soundtrack album from “The Black Hole” a 1979 Walt Disney Productions Science Fiction movie starring Maximillian Schell, Anthony Perkins, Robert Forster, Joseph Bottoms, Yvette Mimieux and Ernest Borgnine. Music Composed, Arranged and Conducted by John Barry. In the Original Shrinkwrapped Cover with No Barcode or promo markings. Includes a letter from Castle & Cooke Foods congratulating the original owner of the LP for winning the album as part of a contest and being entered in the Grand Prize drawing for a Disney Vacation! CONDITION The Sleeve is in its Original Shrink Wrap and in great shape. There is some very slight shelf wear along the opening edge where the shrink is slightly pulled back and a promo corner cut in the upper right. Super solid with no splits, stains, tears, writing, etc. and would rate at least EX in not Near Mint. The Vinyl is in pristine Glossy condition looking barely played and possibly even Unplayed. If you really look closely you might be able to spot a light scuff or two but very close to New condition and easily Near Mint. The Labels are also Near Mint. The letter is NM except for one tiny brown spot which might actually just be part of the paper? If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words: Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them.
